Vocabulary CD
In this day and age, most of us probably have a pretty extensive CD collection. We might have a Janis Joplin CD in our collection. We might have a Bare Naked Ladies CD. We might have a Beatles Live CD. We might even have a New Kids on the Block CD (come on, you know who you are). What we might not have, however, is a Vocabulary CD. A Vocabulary CD might not be as fun to dance to or sing along with as our other CD's, but a Vocabulary CD can do more for our professional and personal goals that any other CD will. Yes, a Vocabulary CD will even do more than a New Kids on the Block CD.
A Vocabulary CD is a great way to help improve your understanding of and grasp on the English language. A Vocabulary CD is also a great way to take what may be a mediocre vocabulary and increase it ten or twenty fold. By listening to a Vocabulary CD once a day or a few times a week (or really, whenever you can), you will be able to learn new words, new definitions, and a whole variety of new meanings.
Now, it's not like you should crank up your Vocabulary CD whenever you have a group of friends over to visit. You - and your pals - probably won't want to boogie down to words like "conundrum" or "onomatopoeia." But, during down times, such as working out, driving in your car, or simply lounging around the house on a rainy day, popping in a Vocabulary CD can be the first step in turning you from a regular ol' talker into a skilled speaker.
A Vocabulary CD, as you might have surmised, improves your vocabulary. By teaching you new words and new definitions, a Vocabulary CD spices up an otherwise dull vocabulary. Because you are listening to the Vocabulary CD, rather than reading definition after definition on a piece of paper, a Vocabulary CD helps your brain remember things you might have otherwise forgotten. Listening to a Vocabulary CD also concurrently allows you to do other things, such as house work or painting the garage. A Vocabulary CD is a great way to add learning to your day without disrupting your day.
